Here is a list of European resource websites that can be valuable for U.S. small businesses selling products in the global marketplace.

  1. European Commission:  Doing Business in the European Union: Provides practical information on regulations, taxation, and market access for businesses operating in the EU.
  2. European Small Business Portal:  Provides information on starting and growing a business in Europe, including regulations, funding opportunities, and market access.
  3. Shoptalk Europe: Shoptalk is the world’s largest community of retail changemakers. Founded in 2016, it quickly became America’s largest retail innovation show in just three years and is now widely accepted as the global home for retail innovators. After launching this 2022, Shoptalk Europe returned in 2023 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona
  4. Ecommerce Europe: Ecommerce Europe is the sole voice of the European Digital Commerce sector. As a result of joining forces with EMOTA, Ecommerce Europe now represents, via its national associations, more than 150,000 companies selling goods and services online to consumers in Europe. Ecommerce Europe acts at the European level to help legislators create a better framework for online merchants, so that their sales can grow further.

Enterprise Europe Network:  Assists small businesses in finding international partners, accessing funding, and navigating EU markets.  The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) helps businesses innovate and grow on an international scale. It is the world’s largest support network for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international ambitions.  The Network is active worldwide. It brings together experts from member organizations that are renowned for their excellence in business support. Member organizations include chambers of commerce and industry, regional development organizations, universities and research institutes, innovation agencies
  9. European Investment Fund (EIF):  Offers financing solutions, guarantees, and venture capital support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe. We are a specialist provider of risk finance to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) across Europe. We are part of the EIB Group. Our shareholders are the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union, represented by the European Commission, and a wide range of public and private banks and financial institutions.
  10. European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO):  Provides guidance on protecting intellectual property rights in Europe and offers trademark and design registration services.  The EUIPO is the European Union Intellectual Property Office responsible for managing the EU trademark and the registered Community design. We also work with the IP offices of the EU Member States and international partners to offer a similar registration experience for trademarks and designs across Europe and the world.
  11. European Free Trade Association (EFTA):  Offers information on trade agreements, market access, and business opportunities in the EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland).
  12. European Business Angels Network (EBAN):  Connects investors and entrepreneurs, offers resources on angel investing, and promotes access to funding.  European Business Angels Network is the pan-European representative for the early-stage investor community gathering over 100 member organizations in more than 50 countries today. Established in 1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA, EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 11.4 billion Euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN fuels Europe’s growth through the creation of wealth and jobs.
  13. European Federation of Retail Perfumers (FEPD):  Represents the interests of the European perfumery sector and provides industry information and updates. European Federation of Retail Perfumers (FEPD) is the umbrella organization of the national European federations and organizations in the perfumery retail trade.  As well as the national federations, members include those international retail trade groups within the perfumery industry which are active in at least four European countries.
  14. European Economic and Social Committee (EESC):  Offers information on EU policies, business regulations, and socio-economic issues affecting European businesses.  The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is the voice of organized civil society in Europe.
  15. European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):  Provides guidance and resources on food safety regulations and standards in Europe.  The core of our activities is to collect, appraise and integrate scientific evidence to answer questions about risks. The outcome of our work is scientific advice to risk managers, jointly produced by independent experts and EFSA staff.   16. European Bioplastics:  Offers information on bioplastics, sustainability, and circular economy initiatives in Europe.  Bioplastics are a major driver in the evolution of plastics, and they contribute significantly to a more sustainable society.
